30 Miles Update

Our eldest son and I were privileged to be Chris's crew for his 30 mile break! Chris is sailing along at a smooth pace and said the toughest miles were behind him. He's looking forward now to seeing the statue of Our Lady on the mountain up at Mt. St. Mary's soon!

20 Miles Update

Our 20 mile crew just called to update us that Chris is doing well! He stopped in the parking lot of the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Walkersville and is not even winded. The first 20 miles have gone smoothly, and he's already off and running to his next stop.

Our "10 Mile" crew just updated us with a report on Chris. He's looking perfectly fresh and is headed for a quick stop in the Adoration Chapel at St. Peter's in Libertytown.

Chris just called! He's hale and hearty and ready to make his first stop shortly. Our crew is in place and ready to bring him his refreshments and cheer him on.

Today's The Day!

Today's the day! It's still pitch dark out, and we just waved Chris off for his epic "40 Miles For Life" run. On this Feast of the Archangels, he'll begin after praying outside the abortion clinic on Tollhouse Avenue in Frederick, MD.

Thank you to everyone who has promised to help him physically and spiritually today!

WHAT IS "40 MILES FOR LIFE"?

Not every expectant mother finds herself able to raise her child. Not every couple finds themselves able to have a child. Happily for both, adoption is an option!

As adoptive parents, we believe in honoring God's gift of life through the gift of adoption: "Adoption Is An Option!" Timed to coincide with the autumn nationwide "40 Days for Life", we are running "40 Miles for Life" at 7:00 a.m. on a Saturday this fall (exact date to be announced).

We will run 40 miles from the abortion clinic in Frederick, MD to the National Shrine Grotto of Lourdes at Mount St. Mary's in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

The run will benefit two charities: "Mary's House" a place named after the Blessed Mother, which provides for pregnant teens or new mothers in need (http://maryshouseofmaryland.org/), and; "Frederick County Right To Life" (http://frederickcountyrighttolife.org/Home.html.

This run is an independent endeavor. We do not have a race coordinator nor support stations. Please prepare for this run by providing your own supplies and support crew.
